PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Port St. Lucie police have arrested 20-year-old Demetric Tyies Gordon on charges of shooting a deadly missile at a dwelling, firing a gun from a vehicle, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Police also arrested Gordon's 17-year-old male accomplice for conspiring to commit a crime and firing a deadly missile at a dwelling.
Just after 1 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016, police went to the 400 block of SE Karney Terrace for reports that someone shot a shotgun at the house.
Police arrived at the house and noticed the front door and window had been shot with a shotgun. Police say they found three spent shotgun shell casings in the road directly in front of the house.
Police were provided with a description of the suspect's vehicle, a white Mercury Marquis.
They located the car a couple of blocks away in the 1200 block of Nancy Lane.
Police say Gordon, his girlfriend, and the 17-year-old male accomplice were with the vehicle.
Police searched the car and found a shotgun in the trunk and a small caliber handgun under the front seat.
During the investigation, police learned that the victim's juvenile daughter and Gordon's girlfriend had been arguing and sending harassing text and phone messages to each other.
Earlier Sunday evening, tensions between the girls escalated when the victim's daughter's boyfriend drove past Gordon and gestured like he had a gun.
Gordon alleges he heard a loud bang and thought that the boyfriend shot at his car.
Gordon, along with his 17-year-old accomplice, then drove past the victim's house.
As they passed the house, police say Gordon shot three rounds from his shotgun at the front of the house as his accomplice steered the car.
Police seized the guns, collected the shotgun shells, and arrested Gordon and his accomplice for shooting at the victim's house. Gordon was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail and his accomplice was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
No one was injured during the incident.
