ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. - A man convicted for the home invasion robbery of an 83-year-old woman has been sentenced to 30 years in prison, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.
The crime happened last November on North Hutchinson Island and a tip from the public led investigators to Stuart Maynard Clark.
During the home invasion the elderly victim stuck Clark with her cane, according to the sheriff's office.
Following his arrest Clark was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail on one count of robbery of a residence/home invasion without a firearm or weapon, one count of larceny less than $10,000 from a person 65 years of age or older and one count of battery on a person 65 years of age or older.
He was sentenced Monday, the sheriff's office said.
