ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. -- The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about a fake fundraising page that attempts to collect funds by posing as a "Layne Chesney Funeral Fund".

According to the sheriff's office, the page, which was set up at the website "Go Get Funding", was created by someone who scammed another user's page to make it look real.

That page has no connection to the family of Layne Chesney, the teenager who was badly burned in a New Year's Eve bonfire and recently died.

According to the Sheriff's office, the page that is connected to the Chesney family is called "Support Layne Chesney and family" at GoFundMe.com.
