The Department of Justice wants to hear from you about how the Fort Pierce Police Department is doing.

DOJ officials will be in Fort Pierce Thursday night for a listening session as part of their examination of the police department.

The DOJ started taking a closer look at the Fort Pierce Police Department after two officers shot and killed Demarcus Semer earlier this year and a grand jury chose not to indict them.

DOJ representatives will ask for feedback from the community on how they think the police department is doing and how to build trust and better strengthen relationships.

The event is tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the River Walk Community Center on Indian River Drive.
