A man accused of phoning in a bomb threat to a Treasure Coast hospital is behind bars.
A switchboard operator at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center said a person claimed there was a bomb at the hospital during a 2:45 a.m. call, according to Fort Pierce police.
A search turned up a package and the bomb squad was called. They later determined it was not a threat, according to police.
Investigators then checked the number used to call the medical center and said they traced it back to 28-year-old Joshua Toussaint of Fort Pierce.
Police have charged him with a false report concerning planting a bomb, an explosive, or a weapon of mass destruction.
