FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- Martin County Sheriff's Deputies captured two suspects following the burglary of a busy Home Depot store on Saturday.

MCSO says two men in a stolen U-Haul grabbed more than $1,200 in tools from the Home Depot on Okeechobee road in Fort Pierce, then ran out - pushing customers as they tried to get away.

MCSO, Florida Highway Patrol, and the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop the reckless vehicle on I-95, but the driver refused to stop.

Deputies say the truck came to stop near the rest area in Palm City, and the two suspects fled on foot.

The suspects tried to hide in a wooded area on Markel Street.

MCSO Air 1, Uniform Road Patrol Deputies, MCSO K-9 units, St. Lucie County Sheriff's Deputies, and Fort Pierce police set up a perimeter in the area and located the suspects within 25 minutes.

Both suspects were taken into custody and will be taken back to Fort Pierce to face charges of burglary, battery, fleeing and eluding and driving a stolen vehicle.

Fort Pierce police will be handling the investigation.
