Two men were shot in Fort Pierce Monday night.
Police say a 23-year-old and a 28-year-old were shot within close proximity of each other near Pinewood Apartments off 27th Street. Police are still investigating if the two shootings are related.
"We don't want it to become an epidemic," said Deputy Chief Kenny Norris. "We need their help to take back their neighborhoods and help us take back their neighborhoods."
Both men are in serious condition at Longwood Hospital.
Police say they are looking at three men as possible suspects.
Fort Pierce police say they will meet Tuesday to organize a task to be more aggressive and get a handle on the violence in the city.
