2nd teen arrested in UPS carjacking

FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of a second teen in connection with the armed carjacking of a UPS truck driver in late December.

The carjacking happened Dec. 29 at the corner of Avenue R and 29th Street in Fort Pierce.

St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara said witnesses saw the teen run from the UPS truck after it was abandoned. "He was questioned about his involvement and confessed to detectives," Sheriff Mascara said in a news release.

The state attorney has charged the teen as an adult. He was identified as 16-year-old Deries A. Wilson.

Wilson is charged with possession of a weapon or ammunition by a Florida delinquent, carrying a concealed firearms, armed trespassing, resisting an officer without violence, robbery with a deadly weapon, carjacking with a deadly weapon, grand theft of a motor vehicle and burglary of an occupied conveyance with an assault or battery while armed.

Oscar Nunez, 33, was driving the truck and was not injured.
