Early Wednesday morning, a thin, light skinned male with a shaved head wearing a white shirt and dark shorts was captured on video entering the Palm Beach Nails Salon located at 14451 S. Military Trail in Delray Beach. The thief can be seen casually strolling into the salon after using an unidentified tool to skillfully punch-out the business’s front door lock. The suspect heads right to the cash register, removes the cash drawer containing several hundred dollars, and simply walks out.

Delray Beach Police Department detectives believe the unknown assailant is involved in at least three other similar burglaries in Delray Beach during the past week. The burglar’s previous targets include a hair salon, a yoga studio, and a tire store. Each crime follows a similar pattern; the business locks are pushed out in an intricate manner and the cash drawers are taken or ransacked.

The detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the subject. If you recognize him or have any information, please contact Detective Chris Trapasso at (561) 243-7868 or contact Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at (800) 458-TIPS (8477).

Earlier this year, DBPD started the “No Cash Here” program with the purpose of eliminating or reducing this type of burglary. Participating businesses are given a “No Cash Here” decal that can be displayed in a window indicating that the establishment participates in the program and no cash has been left on the premises. DBPD strongly urges local businesses to remove all cash from registers at the end of their business day.

Any business interested in participating in the “No Cash Here” program should contact DBPD at (561) 243-7841.
