Mario Pena: Missing endangered man located in Stuart, police say

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — UPDATE: Police say Mario Pena was located in Stuart.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department is asking the public's help in locating a man they say suffers from schizophrenia and is insulin-dependent.

Fifty-two-year-old Mario Pena left an Assisted Living Facility, located in the 2300 block of SW Ranch Avenue, on foot at 6:50 p.m. Friday. It's unknown which direction he took.

He was last seen by his caregiver when he told her he was going to get cigarettes at the RaceTrac gas station located at 2030 SW Gatlin Blvd.

Mario is described as a 5 feet 4 inches tall Hispanic male weighing 220 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black shirt and gray pants.

Police say Mario is due for his for his insulin medication. He is believed to be alone and has no cell phone and no money.
