A Delray Beach police officer was arrested and is facing a charge of perjury.
Officer Timothy McInerney was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail Friday afternoon. Jail records show McInerney was booked around 1:40 p.m. He was released around 4:30 p.m. on $3,000 bond.
McInerney was being investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol, according to a police spokesperson.
The listed charge for McInerney’s arrest is perjury, making a false declaration.
Delray Beach Police confirmed McInerney’s arrest but were unable to provide more information.
State records show McInerney was hired by DBPD in 2005.
