Delray firefighters wary of dogs

Firefighters in Delray Beach are keeping a close eye out for dogs after canines bit two firefighters in separate incidents.

One firefighter, who was running down the block during a group training exercise, says a pit bull came from someone's garage.

"I saw the guy in front of me kind of jump out of the way so I looked down and the next thing I knew, the dog was latched on to my arm," said firefighter Tyler Walker.

"It's just kind of a reminder to us to be on the lookout, remain vigilant, and look after one another and make sure we go home in the morning," said Delray Beach Fire Rescue Captain Kevin Saxton.

Animal Care and Control says an Irish wolf hound mix bit a different firefighter a few days later.

He was not badly hurt.
