A black Mercedes destroyed a sign welcoming people to Boynton Beach, according to police.
Now the search is on for the hit-and-run driver.
Police say the crash, in the 3600 block of South Federal Hwy., happened around 8:45 Wednesday night.
The luxury car's owner has been identified but police say that doesn't mean he was driving when the crash happened.
As a result, investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.
