Assisted living facility resident found at Boynton Beach bus stop, taken to hospital

UPDATE: According to Boynton police, the man has been identified as a resident of a local assisted living facility. Investigators are looking into the circumstances of his disappearance and the reason why he was not reported missing to police.

The investigation is active and ongoing.

EARLIER STORY:

Boynton Beach police need the public's help in identifying a man they say fell early Wednesday at a bus stop in the 3400 block of South Federal Highway.

Police say the man, who identified himself as 76-year-old Darryl Alonso Moorehead, appeared confused as to his whereabouts and was taken to a local hospital. He told officials he is from Christinstead, St. Croix, and has a daughter named Sophia Moorehead, but officers were unable to confirm his identity.

The Boynton Beach Police Department is looking for anyone who recognizes him. The man is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds with salt and pepper hair.

He was found wearing a green shirt, tan pants and black sneakers.
