Suspect arrested in deadly Boynton Beach shooting Saturday night

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — Boynton Beach police say a suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting Saturday night.

Officers responded at about 9:44 p.m. to the 500 block of East Gateway Blvd. in Boynton Beach and located man, identified as Jermaine Orr, 42, on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers said they attempted to save Orr's life until Boynton Beach Fire Rescue crews arrived at the scene, but he died of his injuries.

On Monday morning, police said they arrested Morley Kent, 41, of Boynton Beach, in the shooting.

Kent faces a charge of first-degree murder with a firearm. He was scheduled to be in court Monday morning but refused to appear.

He will continue to be held without bond.
