Boynton Beach Police Chief Jeffrey Katz is resigning and moving north to serve as police chief in Chesterfield County, Va.
On Tuesday, Chief Katz met with leaders in Chesterfield to discuss his strategy when he takes over as chief.
"For those of you who want to understand my leadership style, I guess I could describe it best as that of a coach. I'll hold you accountable. In fact, I expect you to hold each other and yourselves accountable. The work we do is too important personnel within our agency and profession to compromise the standards of our office."
Katz worked for the city for 20 years and was promoted to police chief in 2013. He says he will step down sometime next month.
