Boynton Police arrested two West Palm Beach men they say carjacked another man at gunpoint.
The incident happened in the 3000 block of Southeast Fourth Street.
The 26-year-old victim told police he was robbed when he had just gotten home from work and was sitting in his car charging his cell phone. According to the victim, the two suspects pointed guns at him, dragged him out of the car and demanded he give it all up. They told him to lay on the ground and struck him in the head with a gun.
The suspects took cash and the victim's cell phone and fled in a Dodge Challenger.
Both men, identified as Kenard Vail, 20, and Alfonzo Smart, 21, were taken into custody following a traffic stop.
Officials say Vail fled on foot and was taken into custody almost two hours later following a detailed perimeter search by officers, K9 units and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office eagle.
A semiautomatic Kel Tec handgun was recovered.
Vali was charged with robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery, grand theft auto, grand theft, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and resisting arrest without violence.
Smart was charged with robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery, trespass conveyance, grand theft, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and resisting arrest without violence.
