Activists continue to fight to save nearly 700 acres of unprotected forest in Palm Beach Gardens.

Holding a banner saying “Save Briger Forest”, a small crowd turned out on Donald Ross Road to protest construction in the Briger Forest.

Activists claim Kolter Group is violating the endangered species act by building homes and destroying wildlife in the forest.

“The west side is relatively untouched,” explained Panagioti Tsolkas, the co-chair of the Palm Beach County Environmental Coalition. “We've documented hundreds of endangered species, gopher tortoises, hand ferns, species that deserve protection and this area if protected could be a real educational resource.”

Activists plan to hold another demonstration in March.
