Deputy Chief Daniel Kerr was announced Friday as Jupiter’s next police chief.
Jupiter Town Manager Matt Benoit made the announcement.
"Chief Kerr is well-respected within and outside of the police department. I am most impressed with his calm demeanor and determined approach to law enforcement matters. He will bring stability, leadership, and continued safety in the community which will benefit the mayor, town council, town administration, and most of all the citizens of Jupiter," Benoit said in a statement.
Kerr has been deputy chief since June 2009, Benoit said.
Kerr replaces Frank J. Kitzerow, Jr., who was named the Palm Beach County School District Chief of Police.
