This weekend marks the 40th annual Stuart Sailfish Club's Junior Angler Tournament and algae concerns are having an impact.

"No time in those 40 years have we failed to not hold the tournament," said Stuart Sailfish Club chairman Tom Dyer.

He is expecting more than 80 kids to participate, many from Florida Sheriff Youth Ranch.

A tough decision this year because of the algae. Organizers even discussed postponing or even canceling.

However, Tom and others decided to reach that 40th milestone for the tournament. They plan to stay mostly off-shore.

"Confident we can avoid any potential or negative effects on our kids," said Dyer. "We're going to continue that tradition and look forward to our 41st year next year."
