STUART, Fla. — A gym in Stuart held a fundraiser to help keep K9 units safe.
Powerhouse Gym created the K9 Strong Fundraiser with outdoor workout classes, sponsor booths and K9 demonstrations.
The goal is to equip the Martin County Sheriff's Office with ballistic vests for their K9 dogs. All in honor of fallen K9 Cigo.
Organizers said the Saturday event was so successful they were able to donate ballistic vests to other K9 units in multiple other departments.
