A downed power line caused 1,100 people in Stuart to lose power Friday night.
The power line went down into a ditched and started a fire in the 2600 block of Southeast Ocean Blvd, according to Stuart Police.
The fire was extinguished by responding crews.

One east bound lane of Southeast Ocean Blvd will remain closed until midnight as Florida Power and Light crews work to re-string the power line.
A FPL spokesperson said all customers’ power were restored by 10:15 p.m.
The cause of the downed power line is currently under investigation, according to FPL.
