DANIA BEACH, Fla. — A Fort Lauderdale man has been arrested after he stole more than $20,000 worth of fishing equipment in Stuart, Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said.

An investigation led BSO detectives to the Red Carpet Inn in Dania Beach, where Christopher Wolkoff was staying.

Detectives discovered the stolen fishing equipment was being sold online. They recovered more than $20,000 in equipment and seized $8,870 in cash.

Wolkoff was arrested on charges of grand theft and on a warrant for a violation of probation for robbery in New York.

Stuart police have also filed an arrest warrant on four counts of burglary and grand theft in excess of $70,000.

Wolkoff remained at the main Broward County jail.
