PALM CITY, Fla. — Evacuation orders have been lifted after a "significant" gas leak in Palm City prompted several evacuations and road closures on Tuesday.
According to the Martin County Fire Rescue, an excavator struck a gas line at 3030 Southwest Martin Downs Boulevard at 11:35 a.m.
The Chase Bank, Starbucks and Manero's Restaurant in the vicinity were evacuated as a precaution. As of 1:15 p.m., the evacuation order for the area has been canceled.
Portions of High Meadows Ave were impacted during the evacuation order.
TWCO Gas Company is mitigating the leak.
