A Fort Lauderdale woman who police say attacked a mini-van owner and stole his car, was captured by Martin County deputies on Interstate 95 in Hobe Sound.
According to the victim, 36-year-old Natasha Llera approached him outside his home on SE Coutry Club Drive in Jupiter, just after 10 p.m. saying she was stranded and needed gas money. The victim says Llera became violent when he refused to give her money. She then jumped into his mini-van and took off.
The victim told police his cell phone was left inside the stolen car. He used his iPad tracker to give deputies an idea of where the van was headed.
Deputies spotted the stolen vehicle traveling northbound on I-95 near mile-marker 89 .
Llera refused to pull over for a traffic stop which led police to perform a pursuit intervention technique disabling the van in the center median.
Llera was was taken to the Martin County Jail and charged with carjacking, fleeing and eluding, and driving without a valid ID.
She is being held on a $42,500 bond.
The victim suffered minor scrapes and cuts from the attack.
