A Jupiter man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Martin County Monday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at 6:05 p.m. in the intersection of NB Federal Highway and SW Colonial Drive in Port Salerno.
According to FHP, the victim, identified as 24-year-old Nicholas Immesberger, was traveling northbound on SW. Colonial Dr. at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his 1999 Chevy Corvette, crossed three lanes and traveled into a grassy area. The vehicle overturned before coming to a final stop.
Immesberger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He died at the scene.
It's unclear if alcohol played a role in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
