Indian River County Emergency Operations Center said there are many downed power lines across the area, contributing to multiple outages.
As of 6 a.m., officials said 75 percent of the Vero Electric customers in the area are without power, which is about 20,000 customers.

There are more than 29,000 Florida Power and Light customers in Indian River County without power.

There is no storm-related injured reported and damage is still being assessed. Indian River County is urged to stay at home.
There are two reports of downed trees on homes in Indian River County.
First responders will assess bridges to make sure there is no structural damage before reopening.
