INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. -- Three men were arrested for DUI at the same scene in Indian River County on Friday night.
At approximately 9 p.m., Deputy Levenar stopped a vehicle driven by Mark O'Brien in the 7400 block of 26th Street and arrested him for DUI.
K9 Deputy Joerger arrived on the scene to assist with the towing of O'Brien's vehicle.
While the deputies were dealing with towing the vehicle, a vehicle driven by Timothy Staples drove into the back of K9 Deputy Joerger's patrol vehicle with K9 Doc inside.
According to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office, it is estimated that Timothy Staples' vehicle was traveling in excess of 40 MPH when he struck the patrol vehicle, which had all emergency lights activated at the time.
Deputy Eggers arrived on scene and assisted in investigating the crash.
It was determined that Staples was also under the influence and he was arrested for DUI.
While the crash scene was still active, another vehicle driven by Christopher Carrick drove around two marked patrol vehicles with all emergency lights activated and through the crash scene.
Christopher Carrick was also arrested for DUI, Possession of Controlled Substance and Felony Violation of Probation.
Timothy Staples was arrested for DUI with Property Damage, Possession of Less Than 20 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana.
Mark O'Brien was arrested for DUI.
Fortunately, K9 Doc was not seriously injured during the crash.
