PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Eight-year-old Olivia Knowles is giving Grandma's Place $2,700 from money she raised selling hot cocoa last month.
She raised the money from her hot cocoa stand with help from her friends on Dec. 21.
Grandma's Place is an emergency shelter in Palm Beach County for abused and neglected kids. About 35 percent of their funding is through fundraising.
Roxanne Jacobs, who oversees the organization said, "That young lady is just absolutely phenomenal. We are amazed at what she can accomplish. If I could clone her, I wouldn't have any financial problems here at all."
It's money that will go to good use.
"Take the kids to the movies or take them out to do something special because I know that she wants to make sure that her donation makes a difference," said Jacobs.
Olivia made a video to share with the community about her one night hot cocoa sale.
"We put out fliers, we put it on Facebook and we did all sorts of stuff," said Olivia, "I just wanted to make sure that the kids feel safe and loved."
She plans to do her hot cocoa stand in December 2019.
