Puppy stolen from local animal shelter returned safe

UPDATE: The puppy stolen from Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League on Thursday, August 15, 2019 has been returned safe and sound, according to West Palm Beach Police.

Police said the suspect returned the animal and the shelter will decide if it wants to pursue charges.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Police are looking to identify two suspects who stole a dog from a local animal shelter recently.

On Thursday, Aug.15, at 5:58 p.m., a man and a woman were captured on surveillance video at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League removing Bobbie Joe, a female black lab mix, from her kennel and then exiting the facility.

The woman has pink hair and was wearing a black Polaroid t-shirt and the man has black hair and was wearing a white t-shirt that features the character Chuckie from the cartoon "Rugrats".

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-TIPS. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
