SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Firefighters extinguished a mobile home fire near West Palm Beach on Wednesday afternoon. The fire nearly gutted the mobile home, displacing a family with four kids ranging in age from three to 13.

“For right now, I don’t know where to go," said Patricio Garcia Lopez, who has lived in the house with his family for 10 years.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews responded to the Holiday Plaza Mobile Home Park near Haverhill Road at 2:30 p.m.

"I saw orange, red flames going from right here in this part of the trailer then I just hear popping," said 12-year-old Ines Ormonde, who lives nearby and witnessed the fire.

First arriving crews encountered a mobile home that was 3/4 involved in flames.

“My heart was broken," Ines said.

Everyone was outside the home when firefighters arrived. Lopez wasn't home at the time, but his brother and daughter were. His daughter was taken to the hospital, but is feeling alright now. Lopez is thankful nobody was hurt.

"Thanks to God everything is alright. Everything is alright. Nothing serious happened," he said.

Firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the fire before it spread to neighboring units.

The American Red Cross is helping the family with immediate needs.
