It's not just some people who rely on local food banks for their meals. Some pets need them to survive as well.
Now one local animal rescue league needs your help to fill its shelves.
Peggy Adams operates a pet food bank called Peggy's Pantry to assist local families, struggling financially to feed their pets.
It is holding a special holiday food drive now through November 30.
The pantry benefits as many as 1,000 pets each month, not only with food and supplies but also with low-cost vet care and spay/neuter surgeries.
