Stacey Konwiser left a lasting impression on her co-workers, many of them her friends. Dave Ruhl who works at the Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society said, "She was one of the first people when I started here she introduced herself and she became friends with me."
Ruhl says when he started working at the zoo last year. Stacey helped him feel comfortable joining the team. He misses her positive energy."It's amazing how many people she actually touched. She was always in an upbeat mood and very good with the public and things like that."
Ruhl and the other employees are still in shock that she's gone, stunned by the news of the tiger attack that took her life.
For her friends, four weeks later it still hurts. But Stacey would want everyone to remember her love of big cats and her mission of conservation. Erin McNally said.
"I believe she loved the conservation and teaching people that we need to go forth with conservation and in any species that needs it. But especially our big cats."
Palm Beach Zoo And Conservation Society renamed Saturday's 5K Race in memory of Stacey Konwiser.
