The city of West Palm Beach is imposing a 10 p.m. curfew for all downtown West Palm Beach area for the Labor Day weekend.

The decision happened  Monday during a Commission meeting. According to West Palm Beach City Commissioner Corey Neering, no Commissioners were opposed to the idea.

The curfew comes after an incident Saturday night at CityPlace when visitors thought they heard gunshots.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired but said there were no victims and no shooting scene found.

A woman was hit by a car on Rosemary Avenue when trying to leave the area.

The curfew was decided to ensure public safety and it's not believed to be permanent, officials said.

The curfew will begin at 10 p.m. Friday and applies to anyone under 18 years old.
