An overnight police chase ended in a crash early Thursday morning in downtown West Palm Beach.
At 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, deputies in Lake Worth said they located a car in the area of Dixie Highway and Lake Avenue that was wanted in an earlier carjacking.
The carjacking had occurred at Hypoluxo and Jog roads in suburban Lake Worth, causing law enforcement to be on the lookout for the vehicle.
Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect fled the scene.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said the car finally crashed at Dixie Highway and Hibiscus Street in downtown West Palm Beach.
PBSO said the driver fled the scene, but a perimeter was set up and the driver was located a short time later.
The suspect faces charges of false imprisonment, fleeing/eluding and possible other charges.
This investigation is still active and ongoing.
All roads are back open after earlier closures.
