WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- One person was hospitalized with injuries following a crash in West Palm Beach Saturday afternoon.

Police say a white Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound on Broadway approaching 49th Street at 5:15 p.m.

A white Acura RSX was traveling east on 49th Street approaching Broadway.

Witnesses say the Acura ran the stop sign into the path of the Silverado, causing the Chevrolet to impact the passenger door of the Acura.

Following the impact, 3 of the 4 occupants of the Acura, including the driver, fled on foot.

The driver and one passenger were apprehended.

The front seat passenger of the Acura was trauma alerted to St. Mary's Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported. On Sunday, police say the injured occupant's condition was downgraded to stable/non-life threatening.

Alcohol is considered to be a factor in the crash and the investigation continues.
