The Florida Power & Light VetNext volunteer elves helped transform the home of a local soldier into a holiday wonderland on Tuesday.

Florida National Guardsman Sgt. Peter relocated to Wellington for a job opportunity after a military tour in Afgahnistan in 2011.

Sgt. Peter was then laid off from his civilian job and struggled to support his wife and his daughter, who is now 3-years-old. They both returned to work to make ends meet.

The FPL elves decorated their home with more than 1,000 energy-efficient LEDs and solar holiday lights.

FPL partnered with the Florida National Guard Family Program to help provide a little holiday cheer for Sgt. Peter and his family.

The program provides support to all uniformed service members and retired uniformed service personnel and their family members.
