The victim of the crash has been identified as Kimberly Pellot, 44, of Lake Worth.

Pellot died after a vehicle went into a canal Thursday, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

A horse handler discovered the wreckage and called 911.

According to a crash report, Pellot was driving a 2016 Nissan Sentra. It appears she was not wearing a seat belt.

Deputies and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to the incident near South Road and 40th Street S in Wellington.

They found a deceased woman inside the car.

The sheriff's office believes when the car hit the water it flipped and pinned the driver inside.
