A suspect was arrested Monday in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy last week.
Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies arrested Shamar Dajhawni Lawrence, 19, in the homicide of Branden Jackson of Palm Beach Gardens.
Jackson was shot and killed outside of a graduation party late Thursday night west of Loxahatchee Groves.
Friends gathered over the weekend in Jupiter for a vigil to honor the local baseball player.
Lawrence, who lives near Loxahatchee, is charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was booked into jail at 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Investigators are still trying to figure out the motive for the shooting.
Lawrence is expected to appear in court Tuesday morning.
