Man charged with Riviera Beach carjacking

A 21-year-old man Pahokee man was arrested after participating in a armed carjacking, robbery in Lake Park, according to an arrest report. 

The incident happened Thursday at a Chevron gas station at 1000 West Blue Heron Boulevard in Riviera Beach. 

According to officials the victim, Tavarus Prince, 35, was at the gas station when he came across a friend, Soulija Canty, who asked him for ride home to the area of Congress Avenue and Silver Beach Rd. Canty was in the company of Derrian Polk. 

Officials say Polk told Prince to "give it up" during the ride and pull over  at a Thousand Parts store in Lake Park.

Prince got out of the car and the suspects took the victim's 2012 white Toyota Camry and demanded his iPhone 5, wallet, driver's license, security license and social security card.

The victim told police Canty pistol whipped his face with a black semi auto handgun and fled on his Toyota. 

Polk was arrested Monday following an investigation. He was charged with carjacking with a firearm and robbery with a firearm.
