The beach at Ocean Reef Park in Riviera Beach was closed Friday afternoon after a boy suffered a minor wound from a shark.
The 12-year-old was in about three feet of water when a shark brushed the child's foot, according to a Riviera Beach Battalion Chief.
A lifeguard described the wound as superficial and minor.
The boy was transported to St. Mary's Medical Center.
As a precaution, no one was allowed in the water after the incident.
