A 25-year-old Riviera Beach woman faces first-degree murder charges in connection with a fatal shooting Wednesday afternoon in suburban West Palm Beach.

The shooting occurred at 2:51 p.m. in the 1000 block of Victoria Dr.

When fire rescue arrived, they found a man shot in the torso, later identified as 25-year-old Albren Banks, of West Palm Beach.

Crews transported Banks by helicopter to St. Mary's Medical Center for treatment.  However, PBSO said Banks died Wednesday evening.

The suspect, Barbara James-Tolbert, was located and arrested in connection with the deadly shooting.

According to a police affidavit, James-Tolbert had said "she was tired of being beat" by her boyfriend.

A judge denied her bond at a court hearing Thursday morning.
