PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office on Thursday held an annual ceremony to honor deputies who have died on duty.
Dozens came together for the memorial service.
Family members say it is important to never forget their sacrifice.
“Just to see the impact he had on the community and other people, some of the deputies he worked with, it means a lot to me and to my family,” said Jackie Manuel, the father of Deputy Donta Manuel who was killed in 2007.
The ceremony included reading each deputy’s name, a moment of silence and a fly over.
