Four adults and two dogs are safe after a fire ripped through their home overnight.

The fire occurred Sunday around 11 p.m. at a home in the 15000 block of 68th Court North near Loxahatchee.

The residents said they heard crackling and popping noises and then looked outside and saw flames.

They were all able to escape the fire without injury.

“We’re hoping that it’s not too much damage, but it is what it is. At least everyone is safe and everyone got out of the house good and we got our dogs and everything so we’re thankful for that,” said
homeowner Marissa Puzio.

Firefighters said it appears the fire began in the attic. At one point, nearby brush and trees caught fire and firefighters had to put that out as well, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage is unclear.
