Suspected Lake Worth tire-slasher arrested

LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- A man suspected of slashing the tires on dozens of cars in Lake Worth is in custody.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says deputies have arrested 29-year-old Robanson Nicolas.

An estimated 80 to100 vehicles were vandalized Fridayincluding about 40 at the LaHoya Village apartments at 1105 6th Ave. S.

One witness, who did not want to be identified, told deputies she took video of the suspect. He was wearing a black T-shirt with a fluorescent green skull and crossed swords.

Another witness said the person deputies were looking for was responsible for spray painting vehicles along 8th Ave. S.

One had the name Robanson on it and another had Nicolas, spray painted on it.

Deputies then reviewed surveillance video at the LaHoya Village apartments and determined the suspect was wearing a shirt with a fluorescent skull and crossed swords.

Friday night a deputy located Nicolas. The sheriff's office says he was wearing a shirt with a skull and swords.

He is currently charged with 12 counts of criminal mischief, but additional counts are expected. He's also facing charges of possessing marijuana and resisting without violence.
