A 25-year-old Palm Beach County man was arrested early Thursday morning after a shooting outside of an IHOP in Greenacres.
The restaurant, located at 6708 Forest Hill Blvd., was shut down after shots rang out in the parking lot at 2:40 a.m.
A PBSO spokesperson said a verbal altercation turned violent, leading to the incident.
Deputies said three men entered the IHOP and sat down near a man and woman.
The man, identified as Michael Trenard Shepard of suburban West Palm Beach, later became upset that someone was sitting by him and started a verbal altercation that became physical.
Deputies said that Shepard threatened to get a gun, which he later did. The three men jumped into their truck and tried to leave as Shepard fired numerous shots at them.
Deputies said no one was hit by the bullets.
Shepard was located and later arrested. He faces a variety of charges including discharging a firearm from a vehicle, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
