A 12-year-old boy shot at a suburban West Palm Beach apartment complex was released from the hospital Wednesday morning.

PBSO Cpl. Eric Davis said the department received several calls of multiple shots being fired at "The Breckenridge" apartments located at 5089 Breckenridge Place at about 2:15 a.m.

The apartments are near the intersection of Okeechobee Boulevard and Haverhill Road.

When deputies arrived, they were advised that four apartments had been fired into.

In one of the apartments, a 12-year-old boy was hit by one of the bullets in the back and taken to the hospital. A relative, Luna Massy says, “He’s doing OK now, I thank God everything’s fine."

Detectives and crime scene investigators cleared Breckenridge Place around 6 a.m.

Around 7 a.m., another crime scene area was set up in the adjacent neighborhood at the Elmwood Apartments.

Several cars were shot up, people woke up to damage and called PBSO to file an official report.

Neighbors not wishing to be identified said they didn't hear arguing or cars peeling out. One woman at the end of the street did however see two cars speed off.

Neighbors mentioned this is not the first time "incidents" had taken place in their community, some say they are really considering moving out.

Massy described the damage to the boy's apartment as "too much."
