The Florida Department of Health has lifted a health advisory for Lantana Beach, after recent sampling showed bacterial levels went back to a normal range.

It's unknown what have caused the elevated bacterial levels, but according to a news release from the Florida Department of Health,
heavy rains, high surf and heavy traffic can contribute.

The department encourages swimmers to rinse with fresh water after swimming in any natural body of water.

Beach waters are sampled for enterococci at 13 locations from Boca Raton to Jupiter.
