How many were killed? The death toll stands at 129, though officials warn that number might climb as 99 people remain in critical condition. More than 300 were injured by Friday’s attack.

What were the targets? There were six separate incidents in Paris, though it appears there were two primary targets: A soccer stadium and a concert hall. The soccer stadium had nearly 80,000 people in it, and there are reports that at least one of the bombers attempted to enter the stadium. More than half of the deaths were from an attack at the Bataclan concert hall.

Who is responsible? The Islamic State group, also known as ISIS and ISIL, has taken responsibility for the attack. Both French and American intelligence also believe the Islamic State group was primarily responsible. French authorities said seven of the attackers died, and several more were arrested in Belgium.

How did they pull off the attack? That is still a big question, but investigators have said that the attackers carried AK-47 firearms along with wearing suicide vest with improvised explosives.

What is the response from leaders? Francois Hollande has vowed to fight those responsible for the attack. France Prime Minister Manual Valls has said that France is now at war. United State President Barack Obama said on Friday that he will back the French as America’s oldest ally.  Hollande has also closed France’s borders and has ordered a state of emergency.
