FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities in Georgia are investigating a troubling mystery after a newborn baby was found alive inside a plastic bag in the woods.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office released a photo of the child, saying she was found on June 6 around 10 p.m.

Deputies responded to Daves Creek Road after getting a call about a baby crying in the woods. When authorities arrived, they said they found a Caucasian newborn baby girl inside a bag.

Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman said the child is now in good condition in the hospital.

Investigators are trying to figure out who her mother is.
